The birch series began as a single work in my first solo show. I eventually shipped it to a gallery in Aspen and subsequently the image of distant hills glimpsed through a thicket of trees has nearly become my trademark. This theme is capable of constant innovation within its venue, but here is rendered in my classical style named Shirakaba after the Japanese word for these trees.
