Water Into Sky, Opus 163, 2001
Glass panel, 33 by 11 inches. Frame, 35 by 13 inches.
This was the first of a pair of studies prepared to explore the capabilities of some new leaf forms Roger had made. The piece is actually composed of the scraps left over from the industrial process of making the leaves, and is especially precious for having been made from this new “found” material. Although technically an abstract, it nonetheless comprises his first foray into the Maple Series and was prepared in a single session.
