Night Falls Snow, birch, painting in glass

Night Falls Snow, Opus 496, 2010
Glass panel, 20 by 40 inches. Frame, 27 by 47 inches.

The glow on the left edge of this piece suggests a moment of transition.  As the burst of sunlight descends, the smoky clouds emerge, foretelling an evening snow shower.

A snowy aspen referred to in the studio as a “zen” aspen, created for contemplation and meditation. The moon casts purple shadows across evening on the mountain.
