Reminiscent of a day in early summer, Montbretia quietly reminds Roger of a time of contemplation during a vacation to the Oregon beaches.  The intimate scale and horizontal format provide a perfect canvas for studies of new designs.  The Montbretia grow nearly wild along the coasts of Oregon, and their brilliant orange color is a harbinger of fall.
